“LIGHTSHIP PORTSMOUTH”
The fresnel lense is in the top of the mast. This ship was used in lieu of a lighthouse. The crew on board these ships were always in harm’s way as they worked to keep other mariners safe. Life on the water has always been exciting and dangerous at any given moment. With today’s technology, it is much safer. (Said for the benefit of my mother and other worriers out there.) I hope you are enjoying the pictures….FMGS JEAN

Albino alligator at the N. C. Aquarium
There are only 50 to 60 albino alligators in the whole world according to the information we received from the aquarium’s docent. They have to keep this alligator separate from the other alligators and also protect it from ultraviolet rays.
